Tomislav Pesut

Tomislav Pesut has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Tomislav is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Intersection Co. since April 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Staff Engineer at the same company from December 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Intersection Co., Tomislav worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Schoology from February 2019 to December 2020.

Tomislav also has experience as a Staff Software Engineer at Intersection Co. from June 2018 to February 2019, Senior Software Engineer at LearnVest from April 2017 to May 2018, and Senior Software Engineer at OnDeck from June 2016 to February 2017.

Tomislav started their career as a Software Engineer at Two Sigma from October 2015 to May 2016, where they mainly worked on the development of the Beaker Notebook. Tomislav utilized JavaScript, Java, NodeJS, AngularJS, WebSockets, CometD, and Gulp for this role.

Tomislav also worked as a Software Engineer at Amplify from February 2014 to September 2015, where they developed a large-scale Angular application and optimized front-end performance using layer composition. Additionally, they developed Amplify Ionica, an open-source Sass library for grid layouts.

Tomislav's earlier work experience includes being a Co-Founder, Senior Developer, and Consultant at Gandzo Web Team from June 2011 to January 2014. Tomislav managed a team of freelancers and conducted full-stack development work using JavaScript and Wordpress CMS.

Before that, they worked as a Freelance Web Developer from 2010 to January 2014, specializing in JavaScript front-end development and having some experience with back-end technologies such as PHP, Ruby, and Python. Tomislav focused on creating rich AJAX-based front-ends with proper browser history support and graceful degradation for old browsers.

Tomislav also had a role as an IT Consultant at MindLeaps from September 2012 to September 2013. Tomislav developed an IT curriculum for illiterate street children in Rwanda and worked with a team of teachers to optimize and adapt the curriculum for their needs. Tomislav also performed web development, administration, and video production tasks.

Tomislav Pesut attended the Recurse Center (formerly known as Hacker School) in 2013, where they studied Computer Science. Following that, from 2001 to 2006, they attended the School of Classical Ballet and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theatre/Theater. In July 2020, they also obtained certification as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
