Scott Strickland began their work experience as a LAN Administrator at Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. in 1996. Scott then moved on to become a Technology Consultant at Wells Coleman & Co. from April 2000 to February 2002. Following this, they worked as a Senior LAN Administrator at Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. from February 2002 to May 2008. In June 2008, they joined InterVision Systems as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they worked with various organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region, including K-12, higher ed., banking, Fortune 500, and regulated energy companies, designing, procuring, configuring, and implementing network solutions at scale.

Scott Strickland received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Virginia Commonwealth University, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. In addition to their formal education, Scott has obtained various certifications in the field of networking and technology. Scott is a Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist - Enterprise Automation and Programmability, Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise SD-WAN Implementation, Cisco Certified DevNet Associate, and a member of the DevNet Class of 2020, all from Cisco. Scott also holds certifications such as CMNA (Cisco Meraki Network Associate), Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Design, Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation, Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core, and Cisco Certified Networking Professional - Enterprise, all obtained over the years.
