Intoximeters was established in 1945 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with a subsidiary office in the UK.

For more than 75 years, Intox has been producing and distributing a full line of US-made alcohol breath testing instruments.

But our story begins even before the company was founded.  In 1937, Dr. Glenn C. Forrester discovered and patented a process for capturing alcohol from a breath sample.  The result was the development of a portable, roadside instrument used to collect evidence in suspected drunk driving cases.  Eight years later, Dr. Forrester founded Intoximeters and today, second and third generation family members own and operate our business. 

Intoximeters is passionate about breath alcohol testing -- not only providing superior instruments, but also offering comprehensive support through training in the operation and maintenance of our instruments and software.

Intox is also highly involved in the 24/7 sobriety program—a law enforcement concept that many states have begun adopting to reduce the recidivism associated with drunk driving.
