Abdul Basit has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Abdul began their career as a Pharmacy pre-reg at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in 1993. From 1997 to 2010, they worked at The School of Pharmacy, University of London, starting as a Teaching and Research Fellow before progressing to the roles of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer.

In 2010, Abdul joined UCL as a Professor of Pharmaceutics, where they conducted research at the intersection of pharmaceutical science and gastroenterology. Abdul'sresearch focused on oral drug delivery, the impact of sex on drug behavior, the role of the microbiome in health and disease, and the development of pharmaceutical manufacturing techniques using 3D printing. Abdul Basit pursued their education in the field of Pharmacy. In 1990, they enrolled at the University of Bath, where they completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree in 1993. Afterward, Abdul Basit went on to further their education by undertaking a PhD program at The School of Pharmacy, University of London. From 1994 to 1999, they devoted their studies to the field of Biopharmaceutics, successfully completing their doctoral degree.
