Gregory Potter

Gregory Potter has a strong background in molecular engineering and biology, with experience in various research positions. Most recently, they worked as an Associate Director at Precigen starting in 2018, where they focused on molecular engineering. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, they were a Scientist at Denali Therapeutics, where they played a key role in the RIPK1 program and led efforts in quantifying potency of clinical candidates. Before that, they held positions at OHSU and UCSF, where they conducted research on pediatric leukodystrophy and identified molecular chaperones, as well as discovered new genes and their functions in the central nervous system. Gregory also served as the President of the Postdoctoral Scholar's Association at UCSF, where they represented the needs and concerns of postdocs. Gregory's career in research started at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where they conducted graduate-level studies on thyroid hormone responsive genes in neuronal development. Gregory also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Berkeley.

Gregory Potter completed their high school education at El Camino Real High School from 1988 to 1992. Gregory then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in BioEngineering at the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed from 1992 to 1996. Following this, they attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1996 to 2002, where they obtained their PhD in Neuroscience. Lastly, Potter furthered their education at the University of California, San Francisco, pursuing a Postdoctoral degree from 2002 to 2008.
