Marta Riera

Marta Riera is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in plant molecular biology and biochemistry. Currently serving as Senior Scientist and Operational and Laboratory Manager at Invaio Sciences since May 2022, Marta has held various academic and research positions, including Associate Lecturer at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Scientific Researcher at IRTA, where significant contributions were made to the development of new breeding technologies in crop plants and CRISPR-Cas9 technology. Marta's earlier research includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics and Institut Pasteur, focusing on proteomics and microbiology. Educational achievements include a PhD in Biology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, complemented by a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the same institution and further studies at Syddansk Universitet.
