Douglas D. is an accomplished legal and public policy professional with extensive experience in both government and private sectors. Currently serving as Principal at Invariant since August 2025, Douglas previously held significant roles including Commissioner at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Majority Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Budget, and Chief Counsel to Commissioner Peter A. Feldman. Throughout a diverse career, Douglas has navigated complex legislative environments, advised on budget policies, managed Senate committees, and guided public policy clients in matters of political law compliance at premier law firms such as Holland & Knight LLP and Nixon Peabody. Douglas holds a JD from William & Mary Law School, as well as a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in Economics and English from Ohio University.
