Mechanical Development Engineer at Inversion

Brendan Mitchell began their career in 2015 as a Mechanical Design Post-Grad Engineer at Quartus Engineering. In 2016, they joined SpaceX as a Vehicle Engineer (Mechanisms, Structures, Propulsion) and was responsible for the full product design cycle of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy spacecraft hardware. Brendan designed, analyzed, built, and owned development and qualification testing for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy booster separation system structures and mechanisms, as well as payload specific support systems and mechanisms. Brendan also interfaced closely with production and operations teams to build and operate booster cores, and completed anomaly investigations following hardware failures during build, test, and flight. In 2021, Brendan moved to Amazon as a Satellite Bus/Mechanism Mechanical Engineer. Most recently, in 2022, Brendan began working as a Mechanical Development Engineer at Inversion.

Brendan Mitchell completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to this, they attended The Bishop's School.
