Andy Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Andy started their career at Fubra Limited as a Web Developer, where they developed various website features and audited systems for security compliance. Andy then moved on to Comic Relief as the Lead Developer on the Fundraising Operating System Two (FROST) project, where they coached and paired with developers to increase productivity and implemented necessary technologies.
Following that, Andy joined Inviqa and held multiple roles, including Software Engineer, Technical Team Lead, Senior Technical Consultant, and most recently, Principal Software Engineer. In these positions, they worked on PHP projects, including the Comic Relief project, and helped improve architecture, delivery processes, and security practices. Andy also played a key role in infrastructure automation and advising on regulatory requirements.
Throughout their career, Andy has demonstrated their proficiency in PHP development, coaching, security, continuous delivery, and DevOps. Andy has a strong track record in implementing improvements and providing technical guidance to enhance project outcomes.
Andy Thompson obtained a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Warwick, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. In addition to their degree, they also obtained several certifications, including the Oracle Certified MySQL 5.0 Developer, Zend Framework Certified Engineer, and Zend Certified PHP 5 Engineer certifications. Andy obtained the Zend certifications in July 2009 and November 2010, respectively, and the Oracle certification in December 2010.
