Robert Shalwitz is the founder and CEO of Invirsa. Prior to Invirsa, they were the Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of Aerpio Therapeutics, Inc. from January 2010 to March 2014. Robert also served as the Chief Medical Officer, Executive Vice President, and Co-Founder of Akebia Therapeutics from May 2007 to December 2014. In addition, Shalwitz was the Director of Clinical Development at Reliant Pharmaceuticals from May 2005 to August 2006. Robert began their career as a Medical Director for Pharmaceutical R&D at the Ross Products Division of Abbott from May 1995 to April 2005. Shalwitz was also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine from January 1986 to December 1991 and a Fellow in Pediatric Endocrinology at St. Louis Children's Hospital from January 1983 to December 1986. Robert completed their residency in Pediatrics at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo from January 1980 to December 1983.
