Invisible Women are:
→ A feminist film collective, organising public screenings of female made archive films 
→ An editorial resource for entertaining, accessible writing on women and film history
→ An archive activist research project, advocating for a broader, more inclusive canon

Invisible Women was founded by Camilla Baier and Rachel Pronger in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2017. We formed the collective while researching a jointly written thesis at the University of Edinburgh, inspired by our fascination with film archives and the issues of representation contained within those often flawed, incomplete collections.  

Our mission is to increase awareness amongst general cinema audiences of the fascinating work made by women that exists in our film archives globally. The priority of the project is to organise accessible and exciting public screenings in collaboration with open minded venues and partners, and to advocate through exhibition and editorial for a broader and more inclusive history of cinema.
