Kurt Petersen

Kurt Petersen is an accomplished entrepreneur and advisor with extensive experience in the MEMS industry and angel investing. Currently serving as an Advisor at Silicon Catalyst since January 2016, Petersen contributes to the growth of startups focused on silicon solutions. As Co-Chair of both the HardTech and Wearables Groups at Silicon Valley Band of Angels since March 2012, Petersen leverages a rich history in investment and innovation, having previously founded notable companies such as Cepheid, which became publicly traded, and SiTime, which developed MEMS-based technology. With a solid educational foundation in semiconductor processing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, Petersen has been instrumental in advancing MEMS technology through various roles, including as Founder and President of KP-MEMS and as a Co-Founder of NovaSensor.
