io is a project architect & systems integrator in the energy sector focusing on low carbon solutions (Power to X, H2, CCUS, energy storage, decarbonisation, Oil & Gas, etc). Formed as a JV between Baker Hughes and McDermott with the mission to work in the early front end of projects, bringing our specific techno-economic expertise integrated with the access to technology and execution know-how of our parents and partner organisations. 

Best considered as a systems engineer or project integrator, io has deep domain expertise in the very early stages of major projects, specialised in identifying the key project drivers and bringing transparency to Tier 1 development decisions; as such we believe we are uniquely qualified to bring long term value to our clients.

io is distinctive with its integrated strategic-techno-commercial capabilities ensuring a balanced approach between competing priorities capitalising on multi-discipline capabilities. Our approach is designed to provide clients with the confidence to invest and certainty that the selected concept and subsequent project can be delivered.

io is led by CEO Richard Dyson, who is passionate about effecting transformation in the energy and hydrocarbons sectors, and of finding the new and different ways of working to shape and accelerate the energy transition for affordable, reliable and cleaner energy for all. As such, collaborating with clients in a creative and innovative way is key for us. We aspire to become a client’s trusted advisor and we always start with the end in mind to deliver the project that meets their key drivers. 

Our primary role is in feasibility, concept selection/definition and FEED stages of an asset’s lifecycle (FEL 1, 2 & 3). In FEED and beyond, we aspire to be your partner working with you to protect value. We have a complementary suite of consultancy services detailed on our website.
