Walter Markovic

President, CTO, and Project Management Consultant at IO Datasphere

Walter Markovic has over 36 years of experience in project management and technical consulting. Walter began their career in 1984 as a Project Manager at R R Donnelley, where they managed the development of CD-ROM based products within the New Media department. In 1996, they took on the role of President, CTO, and Project Management Consultant at IO Datasphere, where they delivered innovative, high quality, business-aligned solutions on time and on budget. Walter also held the role of Account Manager at UW. In 2001, they became a Project Manager at Monsanto, where they managed a staff of 5 programmers who developed and maintained SAS applications and the Oracle database. That same year, they also took on the role of Project Manager at the Illinois Department of Public Aid (IDPA), where they were responsible for the day-to-day operations of a multi-million dollar project dealing with the use of EDI standards for electronic health care claims and other transactions. In 2002, they worked in the Illinois Governor’s Office Information Technology Group to coordinate the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance efforts of 13 Illinois State Agencies. In 2005, they became a Project Manager at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), where they managed the development of all 3 phases of the Air Program Improvement Initiative (APII). In 2006, they took on the role of Project Manager / Technical Specialist at the Michigan Department of Information Technology (MDIT), where they managed the development of an ITIL based web application to manage and monitor the State of Michigan IT Infrastructure. In 2007, they became a Web Consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, where they led the audit and technical assessment of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism website and its supporting Content Management System.

Walter Markovic holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from Walter Markovic.
