Eric Heitzman

Eric Heitzman has a diverse work experience in the field of security and technology. Eric is currently working as a Security Advisor & Sales Director at IOActive, Inc. since April 2023. Prior to this, they were an Advisor and Investor at DeepSurface Security from March 2020. Eric also worked as an Investor at Kontrol GmbH from February 2020.

Earlier in their career, Eric served as an Advisor and Investor at Opera Event starting from March 2017. Eric was the Director of Enterprise Accounts (US West) at Security Compass from October 2014 to December 2022. Before that, they worked as a Technical Account Manager (Pre-sales) at Qualys from February 2012 to June 2014.

Eric gained extensive experience at IBM, where they worked as a Worldwide Technical Sales Specialist for Static Analysis and Dynamic Analysis from August 2009 to February 2012. Prior to IBM, they served as the Director of Solutions Consulting at Ounce Labs from July 2007 to August 2009.

Their career began at Mandiant (now part of FireEye) in October 2006, where they worked as a Principal Security Consultant, providing services in the areas of application security, social engineering, network penetration testing, and network security assessments.

Lastly, they held the position of Senior Security Consultant at McAfee from August 2004 to October 2006, following the acquisition of Foundstone.

Eric Heitzman earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at San Luis Obispo High School from 1994 to 1998, receiving a diploma with a focus on Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, Eric obtained a certification in Making Great Sales Presentations from LinkedIn in February 2019.
