Steve H.

Steve H. has a strong background in cybersecurity and penetration testing. Steve started their career as a Cyber Security Intern at QinetiQ in June 2015. Steve then joined the company as a Penetration Tester - CHECK Team Member in August 2015 and was responsible for delivering robust testing and introducing new tools like Cobalt Strike. In July 2018, they were promoted to the role of Senior Penetration Tester - CHECK Team Leader, where they helped deliver high-quality testing and built the SHC password cracking tool, Kraken. Steve also wrote blog posts and gave talks about SHC's track record and Red Teaming adventures. In April 2021, Steve joined NCC Group as a Senior Security Consultant and worked there until March 2023. Steve recently joined IOActive, Inc. in March 2023 as a Senior Security Consultant.

Steve H. started their education at Rastrick High School from 1985 to 1990, where they completed their GCSEs. Steve then went on to attend Rastrick High School Sixth Form from 1990 to 1992, focusing on 'A' Levels.

In 1992, Steve enrolled at the University of Wolverhampton and stayed there until 1995. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences, General.

In 1998, Steve undertook a Computer Repair & Recycling Course at CyberCycle, The Learning Centre in Wolverhampton.

In 2001, they attended Pitman Training in Wolverhampton and completed a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer program specializing in Windows 2000.

Steve has also obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In 2015, they became a CompTIA Network+ certified professional. Later that year, they acquired the CREST Registered Tester certification from CREST. In 2016, they obtained the GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) certification from GIAC. Lastly, in 2018, Steve achieved the Tiger Scheme Senior Security Tester - Web Applications certification from Tiger Scheme Limited and the Advanced Threat Methodology certification from PGI Cyber.
