Jonathan Smith is an experienced environmental leader and hydrogeologist, recognized for guiding research and projects to achieve sustained environmental improvement. Currently a member of the Independent College of Experts at The Office for Environmental Protection and a Visiting Professor of Contaminant Hydrogeology at the University of Sheffield, Jonathan has previously held significant roles including Principal Contaminant Hydrogeologist at the Environment Agency and Senior Hydrogeologist at Shell. In addition to editing journals and serving as a Trustee of CL:AIRE, Jonathan continues to lead advancements in groundwater-dependent ecosystems, leveraging a strong educational foundation that includes a PhD in Contaminant Hydrogeology from The University of Sheffield.
