Robert Ionescu has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and industries. Robert served as the Chief Technology Officer at ionobell from November 2019 to the present, where they were responsible for research and development, developing new materials for lithium-ion batteries, and setting up a prototype lab and large-scale manufacturing. Prior to this, they worked at HP from June 2016 to November 2019 as a Research Scientist, conducting research on 3D printable energy storage devices and designing inks for 3D print applications. From September 2012 to June 2016, they were a PhD Candidate and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Riverside, where they conducted research in the field of chemical vapor deposition, synthesized nanomaterials, and focused on energy storage applications. Robert also worked as a Graduate Researcher at the Semiconductor Research Corporation from September 2012 to June 2016, where they focused on synthesis and engineering of semiconducting 2D materials. At UC Irvine, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher from June 2010 to June 2012, conducting molecular dynamics simulations and studying physical and statistical dynamics of atoms.
Robert Ionescu earned their Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from UC Irvine in the period between 2008 and 2012. Subsequently, they pursued further education and attained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, from 2012 to 2016.
