Grace Chen

Grace Chen is a Senior Quantum Algorithm Scientist at IonQ, specializing in the development and optimization of quantum algorithms for practical applications in cryptography, optimization, and chemistry. With over a decade of experience in quantum computing and software systems engineering, they previously held the position of Senior Research Scientist at IBM from 2015 to 2022, where they contributed to a hybrid quantum-classical programming model and conducted research in compiler technology and high-performance computing. Prior to IBM, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at VMware from 2012 to 2015. Grace is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
