Software Engineer at IonQ

Jonathan Donovan has a diverse work experience. Jonathan started their career as a Research Assistant at Cornell University in 2010 and continued in this role until 2012. During this time, they also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at IBM in 2011.

In 2012, Jonathan joined Google as a Software Engineering Intern. After completing their internship, they continued their journey at Google as a Software Engineer from 2013 to 2021. During this period, they held various roles within the company. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Google Domains software engineer, contributing to the client-server of the FE. From 2016 to 2018, they worked in the App Engine Flexible environment, leveraging docker containers with greater runtime choice. From 2018 to 2020, they served as the TL of the App Engine Admin API in the Serverless organization. Their role focused on incorporating new runtimes into the existing App Engine Standard and assisting with the launch and expansion of new Serverless products, such as Cloud Run and Cloud Functions. Jonathan was also involved in launching enterprise-focused functionality for these products.

Most recently, Jonathan joined IonQ as a Software Engineer in 2021.

Jonathan Donovan earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, focusing on Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, from 2009 to 2013. Jonathan then pursued further education at the University of Washington, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science from 2016 to 2017.
