Tan L. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 1997, Tan worked as a Research Associate at the Shanghai Institute of Laser and Plasma until 2005. In 2009, Tan became a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where they stayed until 2011. Following this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, Tan joined Florida International University as a Visiting Postdoctoral Associate until 2016. In 2016, Tan began their tenure at Automated Precision Inc. as an Optoelectronics Engineer until 2017, after which they were promoted to Senior Optoelectronics Engineer until 2020. Currently, Tan is working as a Senior Optical Engineer at IonQ Inc. starting from 2020.
Tan L. completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Photonelectronics Engineering from Changchun University of Science and Technology from 1993 to 1997. Later, from 2008 to 2011, Tan L. pursued a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
