Travis Pyne has over 17 years of work experience in various technical program management and engineering roles. Currently, they serve as a Senior Technical Program Manager R&D at IonQ. Prior to this, Travis worked at Sierra Nevada Corporation as a Senior Technical Program Manager, where they managed a $100M+ portfolio and led a team of technicians, engineers, and supply chain specialists to meet strategic goals and customer requirements. Travis also served as the Lead Senior Systems and Test Engineer at Sierra Nevada Corporation, overseeing systems architecture and test planning for rotary wing, sensor fusion programs.

Before joining Sierra Nevada Corporation, Travis worked at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems as a Senior Airworthiness Engineer, where they analyzed compliance and safety standards for aircraft certifications and generated compliance reports for flight critical systems. Travis also gained valuable experience at the Air Force Test Center, where they served as a Lead Project Engineer and Systems and Flight Test Engineer, leading test strategies for avionics systems and providing technical expertise for flight management software upgrades.

Travis began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno, where they modeled dynamic behavior of particles and researched fluid forces in the breast tumor environment. Travis Pyne obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Travis then pursued further education and completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Travis Pyne has acquired several certifications. In January 2019, they obtained the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) certification from the University of Nevada, Reno. Travis also received the Simulink for System and Algorithm Modeling certification from MATLAB Coding in November 2017.
