Yash Bansod has a diverse work experience in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and computer vision. Yash is currently working as a Software Engineer at IonQ since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an AI Robotics Engineer at Autonomous Therapeutics, Inc. from June 2021 to February 2023.
Yash also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland. Under Dr. Dana Nau, they upgraded an open-sourced hierarchical ordered planner to a re-entrant iterative version, enabling online re-planning and interactive plan execution. Under Dr. Eleanora Tubaldi, they enhanced the speed of finite element analysis dataset generation using concepts of distributed computing and process parallelism.
In their previous role as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Continental, Yash improved the training speed of convolutional neural networks by implementing optimized data pipelines and upgrading GPU operation tracing functionality. Yash also designed a recurrent neural network-based planner architecture for data-oriented behavior, path, and motion planning. As a Machine Learning Intern at Continental, they developed a software framework for generating realistic traffic images using deep convolutional generative adversarial networks and automated image labeling using deep learning techniques.
Yash has previous experience as a Technical Mentor and Automation Lead at Project MANAS, where they led a team of undergraduate researchers in developing embedded control systems, sensor interfacing, sensor fusion systems, and vehicle planning algorithms. Yash also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Project MANAS.
Furthermore, Yash gained experience as a Computer Vision Intern at Continental, where they prototyped an ARM SoC-based surround view system and reduced the online configuration and calibration time for the system.
Overall, Yash Bansod has a strong background in software engineering, AI, machine learning, and robotics, with experience in various industries and academic research.
Yash Bansod completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2018. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Systems Engineering at the University of Maryland - A. James Clark School of Engineering from 2019 to 2021. In August 2020, Yash obtained the Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification from INCOSE.
