Venkat Viswanathan

Venkat Viswanathan is a faculty member at the University of Michigan, where they are launching an electric aviation battery program. They are also a co-founder of several companies, including Aionics, Chement, and And Battery Aero. Venkat has received multiple accolades, such as the National Science Foundation CAREER award and the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 recognition. Previously, they served as a faculty fellow at Carnegie Mellon University and have held a technical consultant role at QuantumScape since 2015. Venkat earned their Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, focusing on lithium-air batteries and fuel cells.
