Chris Charnock has over 25 years of work experience, starting in 1997 with PQ OutSource as a Project Manager. Chris then worked at IT ServiSource (PTY) Ltd as a Project Manager/Sourcing Specialist for 13 years, negotiating vendor contracts and developing technical architectures. At Edcon, they served as an Executive for Infrastructure in the Group Information Services and Supplier Management Office, overseeing the issuance of RFPs and RFQs for IT infrastructure. Chris joined BCX in 2018 and held the role of Acting Head of Procurement, leading procurement operations and teams through corporate restructuring and the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, they are the Head of Supply Chain at IoT.nxt, managing 400 suppliers globally with an annual spend of R400M.
Chris Charnock's education history includes a BBA degree in Business Administration and Management from MANCOSA in Johannesburg, completed from 2011 to 2022. They also completed an Accelerated Leaders in Digital Business Program from the University of the Witwatersrand from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, they obtained a CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Sourcing and Procurement from CIPS between 2016 and 2019. In terms of certifications, Chris obtained various qualifications including Six Sigma: White Belt, Supply Chain Analytics Foundations, Leading with Innovation, Smart Thinking: Overcoming Complexity, Agile Foundations, Introduction to Data Science, Strategic Agility, Developing Your Leadership Philosophy, How to Make Strategic Thinking a Habit, and The Six Morning Habits of High Performers from LinkedIn at different times. They also completed the IT Leadership Academy from CEB (now Gartner) in August 2017 and received certifications in Cobit 5 Foundation from ISACA and ITIL V2 from EXIN in 2013 and 2003, respectively.
