Hamish Laird is the Chief Technology Officer at ELMG Digital Power since November 2001, leading initiatives in sales, marketing, finance, and strategic planning within a prominent power electronics firm. Concurrently, Hamish is a member of the IPC-2701 Task Group, focusing on enhancing firmware quality for power conversion, and serves on the IEEE Technical Committee for Field Programmable Technology, specializing in FPGA applications in industrial control. As an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury, Hamish contributes to research and supervises postgraduate students, alongside teaching undergraduate courses in electronics and power electronics. Previous roles include Chairman at Stecc Solar, Design Engineer positions at Eurotherm Drives and GEC Alsthom, and foundational design work at Aucom Electronics. Hamish holds a PhD, a Master's, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
