David Townsend

David Townsend has extensive experience in the investment management sector, holding key leadership roles across various firms. From July 2001 to June 2005, David served as Head of International and Institutional Sales at Framlington Investment Management Limited. Following this, positions included Director and Head of UK Institutional Sales at AXA Investment Managers and Managing Director of EMEA Sales & Client Service at Martin Currie. David continued to progress through the industry, taking on the role of Senior Vice President and Head of EMEA Institutional at First Eagle Investment Management between September 2017 and June 2021, and subsequently, Managing Director of EMEA Business at Value Partners Group until June 2025. David is currently Managing Director at IP Group plc, a position held since June 2025. David's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Modern European Studies from Nottingham Trent University and a Master's Degree in Near and Middle East Area Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
