Ashwin Kumar

Ashwin Kumar currently serves as the Director of Research and Policy at IPPR since April 2024 and as a Professor of Social Policy at The Manchester Metropolitan University since May 2019. Prior to these roles, Ashwin held the position of Director at the Policy Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU) from September 2022 to April 2024 and served on the Board of St Mungo's while also participating as an Audit Committee Member from April 2014 to September 2020. Ashwin's experience includes serving as Chief Economist at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) from July 2016 to April 2019 and at Tooley Street Research from January 2014 to July 2016. Additionally, Ashwin was a Board member at the National Housing Federation from September 2013 to September 2016 and at the New Charter Housing Trust Group from March 2014 to May 2016. Ashwin's career also includes a Directorship at Liverpool Economics from August 2012 to July 2016 and a role as Vice-Chair at Broadway Homelessness and Support from September 2006 to March 2014.
