Casey Smith is an experienced researcher with a focus on public policy and climate change. Currently employed at IPPR Scotland since May 2021, Casey has been engaged in research promoting progressive public policy solutions. Previously, Casey worked at Fuel Change from November 2020 to May 2021, conducting climate policy research and analyzing trends to inform effective responses to climate change. In 2019, Casey served as an EU Exit Legislation Assistant with The Scottish Government, contributing to the Continuity Bill and gaining insights into devolved governance. Early experience includes time as an Office Assistant for Alex Neil MSP and an internship at Portland, both of which enhanced understanding of political operations and professional networking. Casey holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations from the University of Strathclyde.
