Laurie Laybourn is the Executive Director at the Strategic Climate Risks Initiative since January 2023 and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House since September 2021. Additionally, Laurie serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter, and as an Associate Fellow at IPPR, both roles held since February 2021 and December 2015, respectively. Laurie's previous roles include Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Economic Change Unit, Chief Executive Officer of the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change, and various research positions, including at the Oxford Martin School and the UK House of Lords. Education includes a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Oxford and a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Exeter. An award-winning programme on the policy implications of environmental breakdown was led by Laurie during this career.
