Igor Buzhinsky has a long history of working in the software engineering and AI development fields. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at Aalto University, first as a Trainee, then as a Researcher, and finally as a Postdoctoral Researcher. During this period, they worked on research related to practical applications of model checking, synthesis of finite-state models from behavior data and requirements, and formal verification of nuclear instrumentation and control systems. In 2020, they took on a Research Fellow role at ITMO University, where they worked on training discrete and hybrid systems using behavior data, analysis of chemical and gene expression data with machine learning, and solving discrete optimization problems with metaheuristic algorithms. In 2021, they joined Yandex as a Software Engineer, where they improved the quality of automatic speech recognition in Alice, the virtual assistant from Yandex, using large-scale deep learning and PyTorch. Igor is currently employed as an AI Developer at IPRally Technologies Oy, a role they have held since 2022.
Igor Buzhinsky's education history includes a Doctor of Science (Technology) from Aalto University from 2015 to 2019, a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from ITMO University from 2009 to 2015, and a Master's degree in Software Engineering and Service Design from the University of Jyväskylä from 2014 to 2015. Igor also has numerous certifications from Coursera, including Practical Reinforcement Learning (2019), Getting Started with Google Kubernetes Engine (2019), Natural Language Processing (2019), Bayesian Methods for Machine Learning (2019), Introduction to Deep Learning (2019), How to Win a Data Science Competition: Learn from Top Kagglers (2019), and Machine Learning (2019).
