Julian Nolan's work experience begins in 1993, where they worked as an International Applications Engineer at National Instruments Corp., USA for two years. From 1995 to 1996, they served as a Product Manager at Loughborough Sound Images.

In 1996, they joined Scipher plc as the Business Development Director, where they established and led three separate businesses in the areas of Digital Signal Processing, Real-time embedded software, and semiconductor IP licensing. Julian worked at Scipher plc until 2002.

From 2002 to 2005, Julian held the position of VP Licensing at BT Group plc. Julian then joined Honeywell Inc. as the Vice President of Licensing and Vice President of Swissco from 2005 to 2007.

From 2007 to 2009, Julian worked as an Advisor at IP Bewertungs AG, a patent-based investment fund backed by Deutsche Bank. Julian also worked as a columnist for the BBC during this time.

In 2009, Julian started working as an Engineer/Researcher. Julian conducted research and development for Iprova, which they founded in 2010. As Founder and CEO of Iprova, Julian spearheads the company's data-driven, AI-enabled approach to innovation in physical science inventions. Under their leadership, Iprova's technology has transformed the invention creation process.

Julian Nolan's education history is as follows:

From 1988 to 1991, Julian attended the University of Essex and earned a Bachelor's degree (B.Eng. Hons) with a second-class honors in Electronic Engineering.

In 1991 and 1992, Julian enrolled at the University of Cambridge and obtained a degree in business management (ACDMM).

Continuing their studies, from 1992 to 1993, Julian pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Artificial Neural Networks at the University of Essex.

In 2007 and 2008, Julian attended EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and completed the Management of Technology (MoT) program.

Finally, in 2022, Julian is planning to attend IMD for a program in Scale-up Management.
