Maria Charles has extensive experience in data privacy and operations management, currently serving as Global Privacy Manager at Ipsen since July 2019, after previously holding the role of Data Privacy Manager. Prior to Ipsen, Maria worked at The National Foundation for Educational Research from October 2012 to July 2019 as Director of Operations and Head of Data Security. Earlier experience includes positions at NFER as Head of Research Operations and Senior Research Officer, and at QCA as Team Manager and Support Officer. Maria's career began in education, teaching at various schools from September 1988 to August 1995. Academically, Maria holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from De Montfort University, a PGCE in Middle Years Education with Mathematics from the University of Roehampton, a Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Research Methods from the University of West London, and an HND in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing from the University of Portsmouth.
