Susan Smith

Susan Smith is the Founding Director of The Speak Trauma Foundation, Inc., since 2015, dedicated to recognizing and empowering individuals experiencing trauma. Susan serves as an Associate Professor at American University of Sharjah, focusing on documentary and film production and theory. Additionally, Susan works as a consultant for Ipsos, specializing in ethnographic research, videography, and editing. Previously, Susan owned Susan Smith Productions, contributing as an independent documentary director and editor, with notable work on the documentary "From the Heart to the Heart." Earlier experience includes serving as an adjunct instructor at the University of Tulsa and as a videographer/reporter for OETA Oklahoma Education Television Association. Susan holds a Master of Arts in Visual Anthropology from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Mass Communication, and Media Studies from The University of Tulsa.
