IPU Collective Limited is an Auckland-based creative and design collective grounded in mana whenua connection to Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), cultural storytelling, and multidisciplinary practice. Individually and collectively, we have delivered art and design projects for Auckland Council, Auckland Urban Development Office, KiwiRail, Auckland Transport, NZTA, Watercare, Kainga Ora, Precinct Properties, Samson Corporation Limited, private developers, independent commissions, and community-led initiatives.

Our collective brings together Paora Puru and Mike Tupaea (Māori artists of Ngāti Te Ata Waiohua, Te Waiohua, Waikato-Tainui), Holly Mafaufau (Tangata Tiriti —mural and digital artistry), and Lona Mafaufau (Samoan — technical lead and project management).

Together, our strength, our superpower, is a genuinely multi-cultural and inclusive approach, where indigenous knowledge, contemporary art, and technical delivery intersect. This enables us to create work that is culturally authentic, visually compelling, and practically deliverable within complex environments.

At the heart of our practice is the cultural framework of the IPU, a vessel and container of life. The IPU is both a holder and a giver, holding knowledge, identity, wairua, and potential, and in turn pouring these into the environments and people it touches.
