Product Director at Irdeto

Bruce Curtin has over 29 years of work experience in the technology industry. Bruce started their career in 1992 as a Design Engineer at Alcatel Altech Telecoms, where they worked until 1996. In 1996, they joined Irdeto as a Design Engineer and was involved in the development of a Generic Platform and OS independent CA client for the DVB broadcast market. Bruce also worked on CI CAM prototype integration and development with OEM partners, as well as early embedded CA integration and Middleware glue code development for DVB devices. From 2002 to 2004, Bruce served as a Lead Software Engineer at Irdeto, focusing on the evolution of the CA client to support a distributed development strategy and the introduction of different client profiles, including support for new PVR, IP, and Mobile services. In 2004, they were promoted to Principal Software Engineer and held this role until 2007. During this time, they contributed to the requirements, refinements, and system design of new system features or products as a System Architect, having a specific focus on Secure Chip and Middleware Evolution programs. From 2011 to 2012, Bruce worked as a Technical Product Manager at Irdeto, followed by a role as a Technical Solution Manager from 2012 to 2016. In 2016, they were promoted to the position of a Product Manager, and in October 2020, they became a Product Director at Irdeto.

Bruce Curtin earned a Bachelor of Science (Bsc Eng) degree in Electronics and Computer Science from the University of Cape Town between 1988 and 1991. In 2013, they also obtained the ITIL® Foundation Course certification from the International Institute for Learning, Inc.
