Gary Sutcliffe

Senior Solutions Architect

Gary Sutcliffe has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Gary started their career in 1997 as a Technical Officer at BTS Networks, where they maintained and managed high availability broadcast electronics and infrastructure. Gary also installed and commissioned satellite, terrestrial, and telemetry systems, and worked closely with studios for maintenance and outside broadcasts.

In 2001, they joined Sutcliffe Technologies as a Systems Developer, where they procured requirements, designed, and developed firmware, software, and hardware for temperature and humidity control systems. Gary also developed a crop picking metrics system for a commercial mushroom farm.

In 2004, Gary worked for the Government of Tonga Statistics Department as a System Analyst and Information Technology Trainer.

From 2005 to 2006, they were an Installation Technician at The Bridge Networks, responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning commercial broadcast equipment and managing contractors and site operations.

Gary then joined Syncrotech Group in 2006 as a Systems Integration and Support Engineer. Gary integrated and supported content management, broadcast, collaborative editing, restoration, archive, and delivery technologies for Australian broadcasters and the National Archives.

Finally, they joined Irdeto in 2011 as an Integration Engineer and later became a Solution Architect. At Irdeto, a world leader in digital platform security, they worked on solutions related to protecting and renewing digital platforms.

Gary Sutcliffe's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science from Griffith University, which they completed from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a City and Guilds in Electronics Servicing with a focus on Control Systems and Radio & Television from Calderdale College, which they completed from 1995 to 1996.

In addition to their formal education, Gary has obtained several certifications. Gary became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2021. In August 2021, they received the eCareerCoach - Years of Service Award (1 Year) from Griffith University. Other certifications include AWS Partner: Accreditation (Technical) from AWS in June 2021, Certified Widevine Implementation Partner (CWIP) - Modular DRM from Widevine Technologies in June 2020, Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in September 2019, and ITIL - Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in March 2016.
