Sukhdeep Singh

Sukhdeep Singh has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Sukhdeep is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Irdeto since February 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Founder and Editor-in-Chief at Gaylaxy Magazine, which is a leading LGBTQ e-magazine in India. During their tenure, Sukhdeep led a team of 10 individuals, edited articles, managed the website, and handled social media accounts.

Before joining Irdeto and Gaylaxy Magazine, Sukhdeep worked as a Senior Technical Lead at HCL Technologies from April 2018 to February 2021. Their responsibilities involved leading and managing technical projects.

Sukhdeep also served as a Lead Engineer at Samsung Research Institute, Delhi, from December 2014 to April 2018. Here, they worked on optimizing and modularizing codecs for Samsung Reconfigurable Processors and bug fixing issues. Additionally, Sukhdeep contributed to the development of a PC Application for Internet of Things (IoT) Demo.

Prior to Samsung, Sukhdeep worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Aricent from August 2010 to December 2014. Here, they contributed to the development of the HEVC codec and implemented various features such as parsing, motion vector predictions, and inverse DCT.

Apart from these roles, Sukhdeep has also founded News-Maid, a satire site focusing on writing satirical news pieces based on current developments in India. Sukhdeep also worked briefly as a Freelance Writer at YourStory Media and as a Trainee at the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO).

Sukhdeep Singh completed their secondary education at Army School Barrackpore, obtaining an All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) degree between 1991 and 2003. Sukhdeep then earned an All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) degree from the same institution from 2003 to 2005. Continuing their education, Sukhdeep Singh pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree in Electronics Engineering from the Indian School of Mines Dhanbad, graduating between 2006 and 2010.
