Ryan Meyer

Ryan Meyer is an experienced engineer and satellite flight controller currently working at Iridium since September 2017, where roles include Senior Engineer and Backup Mission Director. Previously, Ryan served as a Senior UAS Operator at VT Group from January 2008 to January 2014, accumulating over 2,000 flight hours with the Boeing/Insitu Scan Eagle and leading operations during a 31-month overseas deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan. Earlier experience includes working as a Flight Operations Coordinator/Internal Pilot at Proxy Aviation Systems from March 2006 to October 2007, where Ryan coordinated over 350 sorties and was instrumental in testing the Geneva Aerospace LADAR system. Ryan began a career in aviation with the United States Marine Corps from January 2002 to January 2006 as a UAV Pilot Instructor and Sensor Operator Instructor, achieving the rank of Combat Meritorious Sergeant. Ryan holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Northern Virginia Community College, earned between 2014 and 2017.
