Hiro Kajima has a strong career history in software engineering. Hiro started their professional journey in 2000 as a Software Developer at FireTalk Inc. In this role, they implemented the instant message feature for a VoIP program and developed an animation creating/editing tool. Hiro also contributed to the partial porting of FireTalk from Windows to Linux.

From 2001 to 2008, Kajima worked at Common Point Inc. as a Lead Software Engineer. Here, they played a key role in the development of ConstructSim, a construction planning software. Hiro reverse-engineered 3rd-party data and products to create CAD data converters, allowing for the reuse of 3D CAD models in construction planning. Kajima also designed and developed the plug-in architecture of ConstructSim, enabling the delivery of different sets of features to various customers and facilitating quick updates and easy product re-platforming.

In 2008, Kajima joined Bentley Systems as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they acted as an architect for ConstructSim, designing and developing the industry-leading construction planning software. Hiro also contributed to the transformation of ConstructSim into a cloud-native product with a microservice architecture and DevOps practices.

Hiro Kajima has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from Waseda University. In addition, they have obtained certifications in Robotics: Perception from Coursera in January 2020 and a Microsoft Professional Program Artificial Intelligence Certificate from Microsoft in January 2019.
