IRSWIM is a non‑governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to drowning prevention, swimming education, and water safety in Iran.

We are proud to be part of the global movement “Unite to turn the tide” – the official campaign of the World Health Organization for World Drowning Prevention Day 2026.

Aligned with the WHO Global Strategy for Drowning Prevention (2025–2035), our mission is to reduce drowning by 35% by 2035 through evidence‑informed interventions, public awareness, and multisectoral collaboration – because every drowning is preventable, and every life is worth saving.

Our work focuses on three key domains: people (addressing vulnerabilities across all age groups), places (reducing hazards in homes, communities, and natural water bodies), and contexts (tackling drowning risks in everyday life, recreation, work, transport, and disasters).

We are currently leading the "Together Towards Safer Water" campaign, the Iranian chapter of the global "Unite to turn the tide" initiative – engaging families, educators, lifeguards, health professionals, and community leaders in a shared responsibility to save lives.

Let’s collaborate – whether you are an organization, researcher, educator, or advocate, we welcome partnerships that advance water safety and drowning prevention in Iran and beyond.
