Mark Penlington

Mark Penlington is an experienced audit and risk management professional with a strong background in internal audit functions across various organizations. Currently serving as Head of Risk, Resilience and Internal Audit at Irwin Mitchell, Mark has successfully led the integration of risk and internal audit functions and established policies that enhance corporate governance. Previously held positions include Group Head of Internal Audit at Collinson Group, where key responsibilities encompassed leading internal audit operations and presenting findings to governance committees. Mark’s extensive career includes significant roles at XL Catlin, Aon, and Grant Thornton UK LLP, alongside involvement as Chair of the Board of Trustees for a charity focused on mental health services for young people. Mark holds a BA (Hons) in Business Finance from Durham University.
