Heather Smith

Heather Smith is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in derivatives and commercial product development. Currently serving as Senior Counsel for ISDA since January 2022, Heather focuses on advancing ISDA's technology mission. Prior to this role, Heather was a Senior Attorney at Linklaters from October 2019 to January 2022, where responsibilities included enhancing a technology platform for contract negotiation. Heather's career also includes significant tenure at BNP Paribas as Managing Director and Senior Counsel, overseeing the negotiation of derivatives documentation and regulatory compliance for OTC Derivatives from July 2007 to October 2019. Earlier in the career, Heather was an ISDA Negotiator at Morgan Stanley from August 2003 to June 2007. Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from Bucknell University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
