John McAleer has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. John currently works at Isio as a Director since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Isio as a Principal Consultant from March 2020 to December 2022, where they assisted trustee and corporate clients in achieving their pensions-related objectives, including specialist projects, Scheme Actuary and strategic trustee advice, and corporate advisory.
Before Isio, John worked at KPMG as a Principal Consultant from August 2019 to March 2020. Their role at KPMG involved advisory responsibilities. John also worked at Aon from September 2003 to August 2019 as a Senior Consultant, where they advised clients as a Scheme Actuary and a corporate adviser, gaining a well-rounded and commercial perspective.
In addition to their professional experience, John McAleer also has a background as a Professional Athlete. John represented the British Handball Association from January 2007 to December 2008 as part of the national team selected for full-time training in Denmark in preparation for the London 2012 Olympics. This experience provided him with valuable learning opportunities and allowed him to work with world-class coaches.
John McAleer completed their education in two institutions. From 1999 to 2003, they attended The University of Stirling, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (with honors) in Mathematics and its Applications. Following this, from 2003 to 2007, they studied at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, where they earned the distinguished title of Fellow. No specific field of study was mentioned for their fellowship at the institute.
