Isla Medical Foundation was formed in order to provide medical support, supplies, and education to under-served island communities. Our mission is to help improve islands' medical systems by increasing opportunity for locals and tourists alike to receive the basic medical care that they'd receive on the mainland. Islands often run out of medical supplies, have outdated medical equipment, and lack trained personnel to operate equipment or provide appropriate care. We work with local, national, and international medical practitioners, organizations, and charities to decrease the annual number of preventable deaths on these islands, by maintaining a higher level of preventative and reactive care, all while aiding islands' existing systems in their efforts towards self-sustainability.
