Janelle Wellons

Janelle Wellons is a Senior Mission Operations Engineer at ispace, inc., since February 2022, responsible for the design, development, and testing of the Flight Segment for lunar lander missions, operating the spacecraft from the HAKUTO-R Mission Control Center with a focus on guidance, navigation, and control subsystems, as well as anomaly resolution and leadership. Prior to this role, Janelle served as an Instrument Operations Systems Engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from August 2016 to January 2022, where responsibilities included monitoring and logging the health and safety of JPL instruments and coordinating operations with internal teams and foreign partners. Janelle earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 2016, and completed high school at Kingsway Regional High School in 2012.
