Amanda Carruthers

Amanda Carruthers is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and educational leadership. Currently serving as a 5th Grade Teacher at IREDELL-STATESVILLE SCHOOLS since August 2022, Amanda previously worked for Loudoun County Public Schools from September 2012 to November 2022, where roles included 8th Grade English Teacher and 5th Grade Teacher, along with experience in the ELL Department and as an Administrative Intern focused on mentoring and coaching. Earlier in Amanda's career, a position was held as an Educator with Blue Valley School District from August 2001 to June 2003. Amanda holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Education from The University of Tulsa.
