iteach
Abby McElroy is a Certification Officer at iteach since February 2021. Prior to that, Abby worked as an Americorps Member at Communities In Schools of North Texas from August 2020 to December 2020. Before that, Abby served as a Kindergarten Teacher at Oklahoma City Public Schools from August 2019 to August 2020 and as an Early Childhood Educator at Primrose Schools from June 2016 to July 2019. Abby also worked as a Guest Teacher at Norman Public Schools from January 2019 to June 2019 and as a County Clerk Assistant at Hughes County Clerk Office from May 2015 to August 2015. Abby holds a Master of Human Relations in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma (2019 - 2021) and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations from the same university (2015 - 2019).
iteach
iteach is a competency-based educator preparation program that combines the convenience of online learning with a full year of face-to-face mentorship from Classroom Supervisors during a teaching residency. The organization was founded in 2003 to help talented people become teachers while avoiding the high costs and time commitments of some traditional educator-preparation programs. To date, iteach has helped more than 20,000 teachers become certified. The iteach model, which includes free access to professional development resources from Teaching Channel and test prep from Passage Preparation, has been so successful at preparing great educators on a large scale that the program now offers state-approved certification programs in 11 states and counting.
