ITER is an architecture and urban design firm founded in Zurich and based in Milan since 2018, led by Carla Ferrer and Marco Jacomella. ITER supports companies and institutions in transforming the spaces of everyday life, combining international professional experience with a research-driven approach informed by top academic institutions such as Harvard GSD and ETH Zurich.
Through iterative design, spatial analysis, and active collaboration with clients, users, and stakeholders, we create homes and infrastructures that shape cities and improve daily life. How we build is central to our practice and to the planet: we study construction processes, research and collaborate with institutions such as the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and research programs at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment.
Our work spans cooperative housing projects like Common Housing©, student residences, urban redensification strategies, and public facilities across Italy, Switzerland, and Spain. Our goal: create resilient, inclusive, and context-sensitive urban spaces.
