Umar A. AbuBaker

Umar A. AbuBaker has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software development and project management. Umar A. started their career as a Software Development Intern at Palestine Exchange in May 2015. In December 2015, they joined PFSweb as an IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Contractor, where they utilized their expertise in J2EE, JSPs, JMS, and EJBs and played a pivotal role in tasks such as writing and designing data transfer XML and XSLT documents.

Following this, Umar worked at LiveArea, a Merkle Company, as a Senior Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer from December 2020 to September 2021. Umar A. then became a Senior Software Development Engineer at fabric from June 2021 to August 2022.

In 2023, Umar joined Shift Tech Movement as a Co-Founder & Executive Director in January and is currently working there. Umar A. also joined KFC in April 2023 as a Technical Programs Manager, responsible for delivering fully-refined features and stories for web and app development.

Before these roles, Umar had a long tenure at ITG Software, Inc. Umar A. started as a Software Development Engineer in August 2015 and progressed to the role of Senior Software Development Engineer from May 2019 to June 2021. Umar A. then served as a Lead Software Development Engineer / Technical Architect from June 2021, leading daily operations and scoping for e-commerce projects. In August 2022, Umar took on the role of Technical Project Manager, where they led globally distributed teams of developers, gathered business requirements, and defined technical solutions to meet clients' needs.

In addition to their degree, they also hold certifications in Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org, which they obtained in March 2023, and Salesforce Certified Commerce Cloud Digital Developer from Salesforce, which they obtained in January 2021.
